Railfan is a train simulator featuring real life footage.

Availability

This game was only released in Asia and Japan for the Playstation 3 console. As with other PlayStation 3 games, it is region free so it can be played on consoles worldwide.

Modes

There are several game modes including:

Mission mode - A tutorial of using each train variation.
Train Tour - The player chooses the start and finish stations on a section of the line.

Train Lines

There are three train lines available for users to play on, these include:

Japan Rail East Line (Mitaka to Tokyo)
CTA Brown Line (Chicago, USA)
KER Keihan Mainline (Kyoto, Osaka)

This game focuses on urban light rail, while there is a second game that was released later focuses on the high speed rail line in Taiwan.

How it works

You are basically driving the trains for yourself. You will need to keep to a tight schedule as you transport passangers through real life stations. This is shown on your screen with real time video captured in high definition by the developers to give a true look at how this operates.
